Juvederm is a hyaluronic acid in the form of viscoelastic gel, which is transparent and homo-geneous. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found throughout the body in all living organisms. It gives volume to the skin, lubricates the joints and gives the eyes their shape. In the skin, Hyaluronic acid fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers replenishing the natural support layers lost with aging while delivering essential nutrients and hydration Over time, Hyaluronic acid is gradually reabsorbed in the body. Juvederm is obtained by biosynthesis and is of non-animal origin, does not require any prior test, and the molecule is highly biocompatible. Juvederm comes in 3 different concentrations: Juvederm 18: correction of fine wrinkles, such us "crow's feet or peri-oral wrinkles. Juvederm 24 or Juvederm 24 Ultra: for medium depth wrinkles correction, such as nasolabial folds, lip augmentation, forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, obvious mild to moderate nasal furrows and cheek wrinkles. Juvederm 30: is a more dense and the most cross linked version, for folds filling, cheeks volume filling, lips volume filling and very deep nasolabial, naso-genian folds. Immediately after your Juvederm treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a fewdays. During the first 48 hours after your treatment you will be asked not massage or rub the treated area. If you have had a lip enhancement, avoid puckering your lips for the first two days after the treatment. Until the actual swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. in a solarium or by sunbathing), or to extreme cold. Juvederm dissolves naturally with time, and a follow up treatment will be needed if you want to maintain the results.
