Axert Information : Migraine Medication Axert (Almotriptan) is a proven effective migraine treatment for adult sufferers of migraine headaches with or without aura. Axert (Almotriptan) is available in two doses, 6.25mg and 12.5mg. Axert (Almotriptan)is not intended for the prophylactic therapy of migraine or for use in the management of hemiplegic or basilar migraine. Safety and effectiveness of Axert (Almotriptan) have not been established for cluster headache, which is present in an older, predominantly male population. Axert (Almotriptan) should only be used when you have been diagnosed with migraine. Axert (Almotriptan) belongs to a class of drugs known as triptans. These medications have made great strides in the treatment of migraine. In clinical trials, Axert (Almotriptan) was proven to deliver pain relief (mild or no pain) from migraine headache within 2 hours after dosing when compared to placebo. Some patients reported pain relief as soon as 30 minutes.

Axert Side Effects : The most common Migraine Medication Axert side effects are nausea, sleepiness, dry mouth, and burning or prickling sensations in the arms, hands, legs, and/or feet.

What is a Migraine?
