Avapro

Chemical Name : Irbesartan

Manufacturer : Bristol-Myers Squibb

Avapro Information : AVAPRO (Irbesartan) is an angiotensin II receptor blocker used to treat high blood pressure. AVAPRO (Irbesartan) may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. AVAPRO (Irbesartan) and AVALIDE can be taken with or without meals. AVAPRO (Irbesartan) provides starting dose efficacy regardless of age, race, or gender (the blood pressure effect was somewhat less in blacks (usually a low-renin population). The switch from AVAPRO (Irbesartan) monotherapy to AVALIDE 150/12.5 mg resulted in the largest increment in blood pressure reduction (AVALIDE 300/12.5 mg and 300/25 mg QD result in additional BP reductions). Overall blood pressure response with AVALIDE was similar in black and non-black patients (black patients had a larger response to HCTZ than non-black patients, and a smaller response to irbesartan). AVALIDE requires no dosage adjustment in elderly patients.

Avapro Side Effects : NO COMMON AVAPRO side effects HAVE BEEN REPORTED . If you notice any unusual AVAPRO side effects, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

WARNING: Avapro can cause serious fetal harm if used during the last six months of pregnancy. If pregnancy occurs, stop using this drug and immediately contact your physician.
