Sertraline is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) used to treat depression, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (premenstrual dysphoric disorder - PMDD). DO NOT TAKE Sertraline if you are also taking pimozide, weight loss drugs (e.g., fenfluramine, sibutramine), tryptophan, terfenadine, astemizole, dihydroergotamine, or monoamine oxidase inhibitors - MAOI (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). If you are currently taking any of the medicines mentioned above, tell your doctor or pharmacist before starting sertraline. ADDITIONAL MONITORING OF YOUR DOSE OR CONDITION may be needed if you are taking warfarin, lithium, tricyclic anti-depressants (e.g., amitriptyline), other SSRI anti-depressants (e.g., citalopram, fluvoxamine), nefazodone, venlafaxine, propafenone, flecainide, "triptan" migraine drugs (e.g., sumatriptan), carbamazepine, thioridazine, trazodone, ayahuasca, St. John's wort, clozapine, tramadol, melatonin, dextromethorphan, meperidine, and buspirone. It is recommended you take your dosage of Sertraline at the same time each day, either in the morning or in the evening. Take Sertraline regularly in order to get the most benefit from it. CONTINUE TO TAKE Sertraline even if you feel better. STORE Sertraline at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) away from light and moisture.

Sertraline side effects:Sertraline side effects that may occur while taking this medicine include nausea, dry mouth, increased sweating, drowsiness, diarrhea, upset stomach, or trouble sleeping. If Sertraline side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience Sertraline side effects like uncontrollable shaking (tremor), loss of appetite, unusual weight loss. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience Sertraline side effects like a decreased interest in sex, decrease in sexual ability (ejaculation delay), unusual or rapid weight gain, unusual or severe mental/mood changes, seizures. Males: In the unlikely event you experience Sertraline side effects like a painful or prolonged erection, seek immediate medical attention as Sertraline side effects are considered a medical emergency.
