1. Are the Canadian generic
drugs that you sell safe?
Yes, Canadian generic drugs are just as safe and effective as International
generic drugs. Canada has a government agency that tightly monitors
the safety and quality of all Canadian generic drugs sold in Canada.
2. Are your prices in US dollars or Canadian dollars?
All prices appearing on the website are in US Dollars an international
currency.
3. Why do I pay less when I buy my medications from Canada?
A: The price you pay for our Canadian discount medications is less for
4 reasons:
(1) The Canadian government regulates the cost of Canadian prescription
drugs, keeping prices down
(2) There are more Canadian generic drugs (substitutes for brand name
drugs) in Canada
(3) The Canadian dollar is weak
(4) There are no taxes payable
4. Can you transfer my prescription from my local pharmacy?
Sorry, at this time we cannot take transfers from your local pharmacy. We require
that you get a prescription from your doctor and fax it to us.
5. Do you sell narcotics?
No, it is illegal for a Canadian pharmacy to mail a narcotic or controlled
substance outside of Canada.
6: Are there any limits on the type of prescriptions I can have filled?
Yes. To ensure that you have properly stabilized on your medications, CanDrug
will only fill prescriptions for drugs that you have been taking for 14
days or more. CanDrug will not fill any habituating prescriptions. This
includes narcotics or controlled drugs, (benzodiazapine like) sleeping
pills. Note
that CanDrug can only fill those prescriptions where the drugs are available
in Canada.
7. Do you ship Worldwide?
Absolutely.
8. How long are my refills good for?
You will have as many refills as your doctor has authorized you to have on the prescription that you fax to us. The maximum your doctor can authorize is a one year supply.
9. How long will it take to get
my order?
Your prescription order is shipped via Canada Post. Please allow 8-12
days from the time that your complete order is received for delivery
of your package.
10. How much do you charge for shipping?
CanDrug charges a $14 US shipping fee per package (not per canadian
rx drug) for prescription items. We will only charge one fee for husband
and wife orders when complete orders are received and shipped together.
There are no additional service charges or consultation fees
11. How can I pay for my order?
CanDrug accepts Visa and MasterCard. We also accept certified checks
and money orders, however, these must clear your bank before the medication
will be shipped, thus delaying the arrival of your order. We do not
accept other credit cards or any other form of payment. Please make
checks payable to CanDrug.
12. What about sales tax?
No sales tax is charged.
13. What are generic drugs?
When a drug company first invents a drug (eg. Prozac) that company is the only
one allowed to make that drug for a certain number of years (approximately
10 years in the US and 5-7 years in Canada). After this time period, other
companies are allowed to make the same drug. These drugs are called generics.
The original drug (eg. Prozac) is called a brand name drug. Brand name drugs
and their generics are IDENTICAL in terms of active ingredients. The generic
pills may look different (because they are made by a different company) but
inside is exactly the same active ingredient which works in exactly the same
way. The only difference between brand name drugs and generic drugs is that
generics are always less expensive.
14. What do you do with my personal information?
The personal information you give us will only be viewed by authorized employees of our company for the purpose of completing your order. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.
15. What if I need to return my order?
Generic substitution is automatic unless the particular medication is
only available in Brand name. Please refer to the price list on the
website that clearly states if a medication is a generic version of
the Brand name drug. *The B.C. College of Pharmacists states that
once a medication has left the pharmacy, it cannot be returned for any
reason - Bylaw 5 (33. subsection 1)
16. What if you don't have all of the items in stock?
If an item you ordered is out of stock, we will order it from our supplier. If the item is not available from the supplier we will contact you and let you know.
17. Why do the pills I received look different than
the ones I get from my local pharmacy?
Firstly, if you are used to Brand Name pills and you have ordered a
Generic from us, the pills we send you WILL LOOK DIFFERENT. Generics
do not look the same as the Brand Name products, even though they have
the SAME ACTIVE INGREDIENT and work in EXACTLY THE SAME WAY. In addition,
the same Brand Name pill may look slightly different in Canada than
it does in other countries. Lastly, when comparing 2 different Generics,
they WILL LOOK DIFFERENT if they are made by 2 different companies.
